6. Central Coast Shakespeare Festival – 7:30p to 9:30p (San Luis Obispo)
The Central Coast Shakespeare Festival is back and runs till August 3rd! Enjoy live outdoor theater at the historic Filipponi Ranch. Catch a performance of “Twelfth Night” or “Treasure Island.” New to live theater? Never read Shakespeare? Fear not! No matter which play (or both!) you choose to see, you’ll enjoy a great Central Coast summer evening with entertainment, food, wine, and friends in a beautiful outdoor setting. 7. Pressed Flower Dyeing Class – 1p to 3p (Cambria)
This is the first class in Hidden Kitchen’s natural dye series! Pressed flower dyeing is a great way to admire and utilize the gorgeous blooms we get to enjoy year round! During this 2 hour class, Chef Frances Jackson will teach us to use fresh flowers to naturally dye bandanas or napkins. Everyone will leave with a basic knowledge of plant-based dyes and unique hand-made creations!
8. Friday Foodie Night: Scent Stations Class – 5p to 6:30p (Paso Robles)
Ever wondered what people are doing when they sniff a wine before drinking it? Or what they are talking about when they say it smells like blueberries? Come decode some wine language and scent basics! Executive Chef Rachel Ponce and Director of Wine Experiences Vanessa Igel will lead a class on common wine scents and how to identify them in the glass.
9. The Fableist Wine-Rail Excursion – 3p to 9p (Paso Robles)
Leave the SLO Amtrak Station and travel on the Amtrak Coast Starlight over the beautiful Cuesta Grade to Paso Robles. Then get transported to The Fableist Wine Co. (formerly Pomar Junction WineryVineyard for their Train Wreck Friday party. Enjoy live music by Unfinished Business. The entertainment and wine-tasting are included in your fare. Buy dinner or bring your own picnic, and then get transported back to the SLO Amtrak Station.
Saturday, July 20th
10. Rock’n around the Pier Half Marathon – 6a to 2p (Morro Bay)
The 8th running of the Rock’n Around the Pier Half Marathon is right around the corner! Registration fee will include a Performance t-shirt, finisher’s medal, aid stations, as well as breakfast back at the Rock!
11. Understanding White Burgundy – 12p to 1:30p (Paso Robles)
Join Somm’s Kitchen for a very special educational tasting of Ian Adamo’s favorite region for white wines. You will taste 6 examples from both internationally known as well as smaller family run wineries. This will be followed by a discussion on the place of origin, quality level and winemaking methods.
12. Pop Up Market @ Libertine Brewing Co. – 11a to 2pm (San Luis Obispo)

13. Southwestern Coaster Making Class – 4p to 6p (Los Osos)
Come and get your hands muddy! You will be creating 4 coasters from salbs of speckled stoneware clay, then care a bold southwestern pattern of your own unique design! Then you will glaze it in a vibrant color of your choice! All materials will be provided and all skill levels are welcome!

SLO Brew and Makeshift Makers Market are partnering to host live music, intimate craft wine tasting and a full afternoon of small business shopping during SLO Brew Rock’s first annual Barrelled Craft Wine Market! Folks of all ages are invited to peruse a wide selection of market vendors while enjoying performances from The Gipsy Allstars and The Solstice Sisters, FREE of charge. Barrelled tasting glasses are on sale for $20.00 to experience the wines of nearly two dozen local wineries.
