Monday April 22, 2019

1.  Beer at the Pier Concert Series – 4p to 7p
Baywood’s famous Monday “Beer at the Pier” concert series continues indoors at La Palapa- Baywood Mexican Restaurant!   Restaurant opens at 4:00 for food & drink & music goes from 5:00 – 7:00!   This week is Miss Leo & her Bluegrass Boys! Stop by for some live music and great food!

2.  Sustainable Innovations: Create Your Own Cleantech Startup – 7p to 9p
Reserve your FREE ticket ato attend and hear from a panel of experts, learn about on and off campus resources, network with representatives (from startups including Boltabout, Flume, Neocharge, Restoration Packaging, and Fracsun), secure project funding, and connect with other students who are passionate about sustainability entrepreneurship.

3.  Industry Night: Pop Up and Pours with Rideau Vineyards – 5:30p to 8:30p
 This Tuesday, The Station SLO is having an Industry Night Pop Up and Pours with winemaker Adrienne St. John from Rideau Vineyards! “With a focus on the traditions of the Rhone valley, we make wines that are expressive of the varietal and vineyard they come from. Each wine is lovingly cared for from first bud break in the vineyard until the moment it leaves the winery; yet our goal is to intervene as little as possible, to truly allow the varietal and vineyard to shine.” Come and meet industry locals, have great wine and a good time.

4.  Doc Burnstein’s Ice Cream Lab: Ice Cream Tour – 3p to 4p
Take a tour of the Doc Burnstein’s Creamery and learn about a cool subject… ice cream! Tours include a little history of ice cream, background on the company, and a guided tasting of several of our most popular flavors. A surprise visit from a VIP will add to your memorable visit. Wrap up your tour shopping in our well-stocked merchandise “store” for t-shirts, key chains, and, everyone’s favorite: ice cream! Plan for a full hour. The instructional portion of the tour is about 40 minutes, followed by a guided tasting and a question-and-answer period. Tickets are $6 per person.

5.  Sunset Wine and Yoga – 6:30p to 7:30p
Breathe, stretch, and challenge yourself with weekly oceanfront yoga classes taught by Yoga with Lindsay. The effects of yoga are comprehensive and benefit all of you: body, mind & soul, allowing you to achieve new levels of relaxation and flexibility that will leave you feeling centered and happy during your time in beautiful Pismo Beach. The unique location of Inn at the Cove yoga guarantees a special experience for advanced students, but the classes are also designed with simple postures to accommodate beginners. Whatever your skill level, you won’t want to miss a great yoga class at Inn at the Cove. The cost is $15 which includes a 1-hour yoga class and a glass of wine to enjoy after class. Sit on the grass, or take a beautiful walk down toward the secluded beach with a nice glass of wine as you watch the sunset. Find your new WINE WEDNESDAY activity!

6.  Twice Cooked Jazz at Mee Heng Low – 7p to 9p
You know the deal. It’s time for some Jazz and noodles. The greatest hidden gem in DTSLO is the upstairs lounge at Mee Heng Low. Order your dishes at the front counter at this intimate eatery in historic Chinatown. Upstairs lounge and dining available with wines by the glass and Firestone beer selection.

Join over 30 clubs and organizations at the Cal Poly Earth Week Festival on April 25th! We will have representation from on-campus and organizations from the SLO community. Food, swag, and a time to celebrate the Earth!

8.  Pilipino Culture Night – April 26- 27 || 7p to 9p
Cal Poly’s Pilipino Cultural Exchange would like to invite you to their 30th annual Pilipinx Cultural Night (PCN) – Sika Laeng! “Pilipinx Cultural Night” (PCN) is an annual student-produced show put on by schools across California. Come celebrate Pilipinx-American culture. The students will be featuring a scripted play and performance from their traditional dance group KASAYAHAN, their choir ATING HIMIG and their contemporary and hip hop dance group MODERN. The show allows young Philipino Americans to connect with their heritage and culture through an understanding of historical and social issues. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door for $15.

YogaMusic Fest – 3p to 9p
Yoga with your Tribe, DJs Smashing it, Brilliant community Art Collab, Delish Food & Drink… is there really anything else you could possibly want in life?! It’s time for YogaMusic Fest 2019! Admission gets you an event T-shirt or tank top, wristband, sticker, goody bag, parking and access to all 3 workouts! Bring your own yoga mat and water bottle. Dress in layers for outside night time. Local DJ’s featured. The public is invited to paint alongside the artists of Forever Stoked and their mobile art exhibit. All paint and materials are provided. Vegan, Gluten Free and Hot Yummy Food Available for sale. Beer, non-alcohlic drinks and Whalebird Kombucha for sale. Vendors selling goodies on site. The event is sponsored by California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) and Whalebird Kombucha. Register today!

10.  Morro Bay Kite Festival – April 26 – 28
Let’s go fly a kite! Celebrate the 14th year of the Morro Bay Kite Festival throughout this Friday to Sunday! New additions including Knockerball, Kite Surfing, Sand Surfing, a visit and song with Princesses, Superheroes and more. Let’s go fly a kite! Celebrate the 14th year of the Morro Bay Kite Festival this weekend! New additions including Knockerball, Kite Surfing, Sand Surfing, a visit and song with Princesses, Superheroes and more.  On Saturday from 10:00 am the fun begins with over 20 vendors offering food and toys, and your favorite Nanny and Chimney Sweep play “Lets Go Fly a Kite”. There will also be your favorite Super Heroes and Princesses that the kids can get pictures with and interact with as well as free kites for the first 500 children.  Kids of all ages can try Knockerball, Kite Surfing or Sand Surfing. There will be a Giant Maze and Bubble Pool for all to try. Don’t miss out!

11. Corey Jordan Private Piano Concert Ft. McPrice Myers – UPDATE: SOLD OUT || 7p to 8:30p
Classical music and wine. Enjoy a special performance by Corey Jordan, this event is privately held at his home, an amazing 108-year-old townhouse. A chef will be in the kitchen preparing delectable small bites as you get comfortable in the Piano Lounge. Corey will speak briefly on the history of this town, this building, and also this amazing 104-year-old Steinway Piano. He will play a few different piano pieces as you take in the beautiful sights of Downtown Paso. From this home, guests can overlook the City Park and the old Carnegie Library. You’ll be provided with a wine glass as well as a taste of the first of 3 complimentary wine tastings, paired with 3 delectable small bites. Between performances, guests will get a chance to interact with the artist and host. All questions welcomed from cuisine, wine, and music. After the experience, you will exit in the heart of Downtown Paso, less than 1 block from the best local Restaurants, Bars, Boutiques & Art Galleries.

13.  15th Annual Taste of Pismo – Noon to 4pm
You can always expect the best when you visit Pismo Beach. Enjoy great food, wine and ocean views. This outstanding event brings together delicious local food and superb central coast wineries – all in one exceptional location on the cliffs overlooking the sea in Pismo Beach. There will be local Restaurants, Wineries, and Breweries for you to enjoy. 14.  5th Annual Brew At The Zoo – 5:30p to 9p
Don’t monkey around! This Saturday is Brew at the Zoo! Come party with the animals and celebrate a fun evening in our beautiful and exclusive setting! This very special event will be closed to the public and is available only for guests 21 years of age and over. There will be 26 craft breweries, wine, cider and distilled spirits for everyone to enjoy while strolling through the Zoo. Attendees will receive a collectible glass for tastings and will enjoy live music and entertainment as well as a variety of food, t-shirts and gift shop souvenirs available for purchase! 15.  SLO 5k Run / Kids Races – 8:30a to 2p
Celebrate Family Day with a 5k and Kids Races and the opening of our two-day Race SLO Festival featuring loads of FREE activities and live music. Strollers, walkers, runners and families are welcome! Vendors, healthy food and free yoga will get you inspired to live your best life.

16.  Earth Day Fair & Music Festival at Laguna Lake – 11a to 5p
Fun, education, community and action for everyone. Celebrate our natural resources, learn how to reduce your footprint, protect and preserve our natural resources for future generations and slow down climate change. Discover solutions, how to take action. Featuring a Kid’s Zone, Green Marketplace, Car Show, Health Corner, Community Action Plaza & Live Music. Food and beverages will be available.

17.  Spring Wine Stroll Downtown Paso Wines – 12p to 3p
Sip and nibble gourmet goodies at over 15 Downtown Paso Robles wine tasting rooms, all within walking distance. Enjoy a diverse selection of all our new releases paired with gourmet bites and open-arm hospitality! From Albariño to Zinfandel, there is a little something for every palate. 18.  Grandma Ingrid’s Cheese Class – 9a to Noon
Come to Grandma Ingrids and learn to make delicious cheese. We will make several different kinds of cheese like fresh mozzarella, feta, and butter. This class is part hands on and part demonstration as some cheese takes longer to make than others. We will also give you supplies so you can go home and start making fresh mozzarella cheese right away.  Come hungry, lunch and lots of snacks will be served during the class.

22.  SLO Marathon & Half Marathon Relay – 5a to 12:30p
Come experience the best the California Central Coast has to offer: year-round sunshine, rolling green hills, unspoiled open roads, first class finish lines and more. This course is a scenic tour of San Luis Obispo starting and finishing near the Madonna Inn. Runners will enjoy by heading straight toward historic downtown San Luis Obispo. 23.  Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory at The Cliffs Resort – 7p to 9:30p
Enter a candyland come to life with chocolate rivers, fantastical fruits, experimental sweets & treats, and of course, Oompa-Loompas! This spring, join The Cliffs Resort for a showing of the original Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. Food & drinks will be for sale to enjoy during the movie, and hidden amongst them is a GOLDEN TICKET. Find the ticket and you will win a prize! All ages welcome, no outside food and beverage, no high backed chairs, rain cancels event. This movie is rated G. It will be scrumdiddlyumptious!

24.  Tin City Sunday Market – 11a to 4pm
Celebrate the most creative artisans on the Central Coast! Handmade jewelry, clothing, home décor, fresh local food, prints and soaps. Many artisans will be working on their goods live in person! Chat with them and get to know your local maker! Hungry Mother Food Truck will be whipping up delicious eats all day long!
Bring the whole family for a beautiful, relaxing day in Tin City.
