1. Foxen Winemaker Dinner at Ember – 6p to 9p

2.  Spring 2019 Craft Sale – 10a to 4p
Support students and local artists at the Spring 2019 Craft Sale! The event will take place in the University Union Plaza from April 29 to May 1 from 10 to 4 p.m. daily. Don’t miss out on unique crafts and art of all kinds!

3.  Climate Solution Series Kickoff Celebration! – 5:30p to 8:30p
Cities and states are leading the way in addressing the causes and impacts of climate change.  To support this effort, the SLO Climate Coalition is hosting the Climate Solution Series, a number of events created to engage the community around the Climate Action Plan update and the new solutions it brings to the table.  The Kickoff Celebration will bring together important San Luis Obispo community leaders and non-profits who will be key players in the effort to achieve community-wide carbon neutrality by 2035. Joining our panel discussion will be City of San Luis Obispo Mayor Heidi Harmon, SLO Chamber of Commerce CEO Jim Dantona, and CalPoly Energy, Utilities and Sustainability Director Dennis Elliot. The conversation will focus on the opportunities presented by a commitment to a deep reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, and how the community can work together to achieve this historic goal.

5.  Bike Month Kickoff! 
SLO Bike Month Kicks off today! It’s going to be a fun-filled month full of events for the whole community to enjoy.

  • GH Sports Bike Breakfast – 7a to 10a
    The 5th Annual May Day Bike Breakfast is for you…you daily commuters, mountain bikers, child or dog haulers, and tall bike posse’ers. Whatever type of bike riding you do, we want to say good morning and wish you good riding all month long.  Come for food and warm beverages and stay for music and smiles to fuel your excitement for the month ahead.   • Bike Breakfast at Bike Kitchen! – 7a to 9a

6.  Cruisin Morro Bay Car Show – May 2 to 5
Cruisin’ Morro Bay Car Show returns for its 23rd year in 2019! Starting Thursday evening, rare cars will begin arriving in Morro Bay for registration. On Friday, secure a spot on Main Street for Cruise Night at 6 p.m. as classic and other rare cars cruise past.  Continue the “Show & Shine” on Saturday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and talk with the car owners.  The event wraps up on Sunday morning with the announcement of the prize winners. This event is a must if you are a car lover!

7.  Bike Happening – 9:30p to 11p
Get together every first Thursday of the month for a fun bike ride through downtown San Luis Obispo. There is no permit for this ride because everyone relies on their right to peacefully assemble and abide by the laws of traffic. If you chose to join the ride you need to follow three simple rules: Have fun, respect our community, and obey all traffic laws. We charge everyone on the ride to help encourage others to abide by these rules.Whether you dust off your old cruiser or bring out your pricey pride and joy, we ride because we like to get people on their bikes and to have fun.

8.   Art After Dark – 6p to 9p
Join Arts Obispo every first Friday of the month to celebrate art and local artists. Downtown comes alive with new art exhibits, performances, music, and community. Visit dozens of galleries and non-traditional exhibit spaces. It’s everyone’s favorite night of the month to celebrate art for free. On a typical Art After Dark, approximately 30 venues including galleries, restaurants, salons, and boutiques spotlight the best of San Luis Obispo County arts and culture.

9.   Pre-Olive Fest Social Mixer & Olive Oil Tasting Allegretto – 6p to 8p
Join Paso Robles Main Street Association & Olive Producers at this annual event as they kick off Olive Festival Weekend! Olive oil tasting, appetizers and of course wine will be provided. Help support your local and near olive farmers as we celebrate their hard work and passion for creating amazing products!

10.   Wine, Waves & Beyond:  Surf Movie Night: Big Waves on the Big Screen – 5:30p to 9p
The historic Fremont Theater in San Luis Obispo kicks off this 3-day event with our Featured Film: Momentum with Special Momentum Generation Legends in Attendance! This epic movie night is filled with community, culture, and surfing. Plus, enjoy live music by Shawn Clark & Ryan Delmore in the foyer before the movie! Beer and wine will be available for purchase. All proceeds from this epic movie event will go to benefit StillFrothy!

11.  Wine, Waves & Beyond: 805 Surf Classic & Classic VW Show

  • 805 Surf Classic – 7a to 3p
    Rise and shine on Saturday morning for the 805 Surf Classic presented by local non-profit Still Frothy at the Pismo Beach Pier featuring an invitational team competition with teams comprised of male and female surfers from the 805, an adaptive heat, women’s shortboard, and a local Winemakers & Brew Masters heat.
  • Classic VW Show – 9:15a to 3:15p
    After the event, head over to Downtown Pismo Beach and enjoy our Vintage VW Show (Buses, Bugs and More). Located at the Main Street parking lot, in downtown. The festivities kick-off with a meet & greet followed by a cruise through Pismo Beach. Come out and support a great cause either as an entrant or spectator. Additionally, guests will enjoy live music by the CRISPTONES BAND from 11:30am to 2:30pm.

12.   11th Annual Paso Robles Dog Jog – 9a to 2p
Bring your fur baby out to join the Sherwood Dog Park volunteers on a 2k or 4k jog or walk through the lush Vina Robles vineyard at the 11th Annual Dog Jog. After the jog, listen to live music as you enjoy lunch, wine tasting and tour the event expo comprised of local, dog loving vendors, and silent auction.  Participation in this fundraiser is a great way to “actively” help support the ongoing maintenance and improvements for the Sherwood Dog Park located in Paso Robles. An early registration fee of $30, includes: 2k or 4k walk, jog, or run, commemorative dog bandana, goody bag, finisher’s medal, a voucher for lunch and a glass of Vina Robles wine and event glass for 21 and older participants. Vina Robles will provide lunch and wine. Additional lunches ($12) or wine ($6) will be available for purchase. All event proceeds benefit Sherwood Dog Park located in Paso Robles

13.  French White Wines Educational Tasting – 12p to 1:15p
Join Somm’s Kitchen as they present 6 wines from 4 of the most classic French wine regions. They will review Burgundy, Loire Valley, Rhone Valley, and Alsace.  Discuss each of the wines, place of origin, vintage, winemaking methods and quality.

14.  The 8th Annual SLO Tweed Ride – 1p to 4p
Join the 8th annual Tweed Ride! Be sure to bring the most dapper of your friends and family. A tweed ride is a leisurely bike ride through town, where cyclists are expected to dress in traditional early 20th-century attire (tweed, wool, knickers, hats, mustaches, oxfords, etc) and we’re hoping to hear some accents in there as well. The Crustacea Jazz Band will be playing for the 8th year in a row. Any bicycle is acceptable for the ride, but classic vintage bicycles are highly encouraged. Beverages and picnic goodies are also welcome to celebrate within the park after the ride while the band plays.

15.  Doce Robles Kentucky Derby Party – SOLD OUT! – 2:30p to 5p
Wine, horse racing, hats! Join Maribeth Jacobsen, owner of Doce Robles Wines & California native horse expert, to celebrate one of the world’s most exciting sport events. This year’s Kentucky Derby! Grab your friends and your Derby hat and head to the winery! Dress to impress for the hat competition and bring your wallets to wager on the horses for live Derby race viewing. Event will be held on the Doce Robles Vineyard Estate with wine juleps and luncheon. $20 General: Admission includes: wine, food, and your very own take-home 2019 official julep glass.

16.  Cambria Bee Faire – Noon to 4p
Calling all our honey bee lovers. It’s time for the Cambria Bee Faire. The event will be held at the Cambria Historical Museum. There will be honey, honey beauty products, mead, exhibits, scavenger hunt, books and educational classes available for all to enjoy. Bee there!

17. Art After Dark Paso – 6p to 9p
Join Arts Obispo in Downtown Paso Robles for their free Art Walk! 6-9pm First Saturday of Every Month – Rain or Shine! Event is FREE!

18.  Grandma Ingrid Tamale Making Class – 9a to Noon
Come learn to make tamales.  During class, you will have a hands-on class where you make your own tamales to bring home to cook for Cinco de Mayo.  Come hungry!! 19.  Flavors of SLO – Noon to 4p
Come celebrate the 11th Annual Flavors of SLO! At this all-inclusive event, you’ll enjoy sampling some of the best food, wine and beer the Central Coast has to offer, at the beautiful and historic Mission Plaza in San Luis Obispo! Entertainment includes live music from local musicians and bands. Each year this event raises thousands of dollars to benefit United Way of San Luis Obispo County.  General admission: $30. VIP tickets ($50) include early entrance at 12:00 PM and the opportunity to enjoy an exclusive spirits tasting.

20.  3rd Annual Barn Bash – 4p to 8p
Enjoy a special evening celebrating youth arts, good food & friends at the historic, Rolling Hills Ranch in San Miguel. The community will come together to support PRYAFs free Visual & Performing Arts Program serving nearly 400 students per quarter with 45, free classes per week in Art, Theater, Music, Dance and Creative Enrichment Classes! Enjoy a delicious BBQ by Paso Robles Kiwanis Club, ball-tip, chicken, bread, beans & salad. Wine provided by Dubost, Rio Seco Sans Liege and Fableist Wineries plus Tin City Cider, locally brewed beers and more. There will also be a live auction, raffles, student performances and live music with Rod Norris and the Hats Off Band! Get set for fun, for a GREAT cause – our community’s youth! Reserve your tickets or tables and enjoy! Tickets are $65 per person.

21.  16th Annual Olive Festival – 10a to 5p
Paso olives you! It’s all about olives during the annual Paso Robles Olive Festival. Bring the entire family to Downtown City Park for a day dedicated to Paso Robles area olives including sampling, vendors, demonstrations and an olive dish-cooking contest. Check out the mobile olive oil press, or take a stroll through Culinary Row to entice your epicurean fancy with local artisanal, farm-fresh food, and be sure to try the olive oil ice cream!

22.  Shabang: Reborn – Noon to 10p
Every year, fans gather at Laguna Lake Park in San Luis Obispo, California to enjoy life and good tunes. Enjoy a multitude of talented musical acts, incredible meals from local food trucks, awe-inspiring artistic demonstrations, group games and more. This music festival brings together some of the greatest aspects of life, all while making a positive impact on our community. Enjoy more music, more art, and more friends than ever before. 23.  2nd Annual Seas to Trees Day – 9:30a to Noon || After Party Noon to 3p
Join ECOSLO for their 2nd Annual Seas to Trees Day! This day will be filled with various volunteer events around San Luis Obispo County. It will be a fun day of caring for our precious natural spaces and supporting ECOSLO! After volunteering, be sure to join us for the Seas to Trees After Party at 7 Sisters Brewing in SLO from Noon-3pm for food, music, drinks and fun!

24.  Stand Strong & Celebrate – 11a to 4p
Stand Strong celebrates their 40th anniversary! They will be hosting a ’80s themed party, dress up in your best 80s outfit or come as you are! Start the festivities with a glass of wine and a parade through the scenic Talley Vineyards led by the lively sounds of Brass Mash.   Continue with an afternoon filled with wine, a delectable meal, and a show from the electrifying The Molly Ringwald Project. There will be fun games and activities, exclusive prizes, and a featured appearance by the Back to the Future DeLorean from Doc Browns Time Machine Rental!

25.  Templeton Wine Festival – 1p to 5p
The Templeton Wine Festival will be held in the Templeton Park. There will be over 40 wineries, breweries and cider for unlimited tasting. Food vendors, commercial vendors and artists will be there. Music and dancing all afternoon. Designated Driver $20 | General Admission $35.

26.  Three Speckled Hens Antiques and Old Stuff Show –  May 4 & 5
Located in the famous Paso Robles Event Center, the Three Speckled Hens Antiques and Old Stuff Show is a biannual event that specializes in selling one-of-a-kind antique and vintage items. Over 150 dealers will participate in the show, selling everything from antiques and vintage items to re-purposed treasures.  The show’s “Coop Cafe” will offer breakfast and lunch items, with additional food choices available onsite to keep shoppers fueled up. If a Bloody Mary or a glass of wine is what you want to sip while shopping, we will have a bar for your enjoyment. If you have to leave for any reason, remember that you can re-enter the show for free!  General Admission $12 | Early Bird $25 | Children under 12 are free.

27.  Art in the Park: Pismo Beach – 10a to 4p
Calling all our art lovers. Enjoy Labor Day weekend at Dinosaur Park in Pismo Beach as over 60 local artists and craftspeople gather together to celebrate the arts! Come visit our awesome vendors, buy a gift for a friend or yourself, eat some great food, listen to fabulous music and enjoy the view! The event is FREE!

28. Cayucos Antique Street Faire – 7a to 3p
The Antique Street Faire takes place in the quaint beach community of downtown Cayucos. More than 50 vendors participate in this biannual event, selling antiques, arts & crafts and commercial items. While shopping, visitors can satisfy their appetite with their choice from 8 food vendors offering everything from kettle corn to hot dogs, BBQ to Greek dishes. We also have many local eateries serving Mexican, Italian, seafood and smoked fish and chicken!!  And, no Faire is complete without sweet treats and cold drinks. Bring the whole family for a day of shopping and fun!  Free admission, free parking!

29. Barrel to Barrel – 1p to 5p
As part of the Wine, Waves & Beyond three-day event, the party continues with Rabobank’s Barrel to Barrel grand tasting. The event will be held on the ocean front lawn of the Cliffs Resort. This tasting event will feature over 40 local wineries, breweries and restaurants. Enjoy live music by Lulu & the CowTippers and a sunset to remember. And don’t miss a chance to bid on our Wine, Waves & Beyond themed auction! All proceeds support GleanSLO, program of the Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County that connects farmers and backyard growers with volunteers, who will harvest fruits and vegetables for local food banks that would otherwise go to waste.  General Admission $75 | $85 VIP Early Admission.

30.  Cico de May Taco Tasting  – Noon to 5p
Enjoy a progressive tasting tour with the Pacific Coast Wine Trail wineries and food from Boni’s Tacos. Five different mini tacos and one dessert will be spread across the six wineries. Pairing INCLUDED with a tasting fee.

31.  Digging It: You Are The Olive Farmer – 12 noon & 2pm
Plant a tree, learn what olive farming is all about and watch your tree produce over time. You will experience farming first hand and you’ll receive a certificate with your tree’s coordinates, so you can return to visit your tree year after year. Come early and taste first – There will be olive oil drizzled over ice cream
