Monday, May 13th 2019

1.  Tattinger Educational Tasting – 12:30p to 1:30p & 6p to 7:30p

Somm’s Kitchen is thrilled to be pouring a Lineup of Taittinger Wines. Taste 5 of their wines with all different styles including the current “Comtes de Champagne” release. This is a great opportunity to learn about the varieties used, the aging process and quality levels. $45 per person.

2.   Composting 101: Techniques to Grow Tasty Fruits & Veggies – 5:30p to 7p
Join Cristy Christie from Black Diamond Vermicompost as she shares her insight into the business of composting, along with tips and tricks to grow your own tasty fruit and veggies.  No samples to taste this time but you’ll learn the three secrets to growing a successful garden. Come early and buy dinner or a glass of wine. Please RSVP to karen@winehistoryproject.org.  $10 donation appreciated. The event will take place at SLO Provisions.

3.  SIP Smart Seminar – 9a to 1p
An event dedicated to sustainability: Learn more about what it means to be SIP Certified and how to share your part in taking care of the people and the planet with customers. Whether you work in the vineyard, tasting room, marketing, or sales, this seminar is for you. Free for SIP Certified attendees | $30 for non-certified attendees. Lunch will be provided at Niner Wine Estates.

Wednesday, May 15th 2019

4. Expo at the Expo – 4p to 7p
The annual EXPO at the Expo is held at the Madonna Inn Expo Center and brings together more than 130 local exhibitors and puts them in front of 2,000 attendees in what has become the largest business trade show on the Central Coast.

5. Wine Wednesday Featuring El Lugar Wines – 5p to 7:30p
Parker-Garcia from El Lugar Wines will be coming to SLO Provisions! Coby was the winemaker at Claiborne & Churchill up until 2018, but if you have not had the opportunity to taste the wines from his own label he makes along with his wife Katie, here is your chance! These small production, site-specific Pinot Noir bottlings should not be missed.  Taste through the most recent releases. Enjoy these beautiful wines as a flight or by the glass all evening long, they will also offer special pricing on featured bottles!

6. Mint + Craft Presents: Our Local Table Experience – 7p to 9p – SOLD OUT
Mint + Craft presents a family-style dining experience featuring our Executive Chef Brian Parks. $48/person (includes tax + gratuity) +$20 optional wine pairing

7. Ride of Silence – 7pm – 9pm
The Ride of Silence is a free ride that asks its cyclists to ride no faster than 12 mph, wear helmets, follow the rules of the road and remain silent during the ride. There are no registration fees.  Ride begins at Bike Kitchen in SLO and aims to raise the awareness of motorists, police and city officials that cyclists have a legal right to the public roadways. The ride is also a chance to show respect for and honor the lives of those who have been killed or injured.  

8. National Geographic Live – Brian Skerry: Ocean Soul – 7:30p to 8:45p
Voyage across the oceans with one of National Geographic’s most seasoned photographers and discover a vast, hidden world beneath the waves. Using his camera to communicate, Brian Skerry has spent more than 10,000 hours underwater, telling the oceans’ stories.

9. Paso Robles Wine Festival – May 16 to 19
Join Paso Robles Wine Country for the 37th Annual Wine Festival Weekend! It is a celebration of the innovation, triumphs, and character of this spectacular region. There will be barrel samples, food for purchase, and live music. For a full details click HERE.

10. Pismo Vintage Trailer Rally – May 16 – 19
Stop by the nation’s largest Vintage RV Rally in Pismo Beach.  Event parking outside of resort only. Check out over 100 beautiful vintage trailers and motorhomes. 

11. Winemaker Dinner @ Thomas Hill Organics – 6:30p to 9p – SOLD OUT
We are kicking off Wine Festival with an all-inclusive four-course winemaker dinner! Join four of Paso’s best producers at Thomas Hill Organics’ collaborative winemaker dinner. Advance purchase only. Seating extremely limited. Wineries to be featured: Hearst Ranch, Opolo, TH Estate, Vines on the Marycrest.

12. Bottle Share Dinner at The Hatch – 7p to 9p
The Hatch is kicking off Wine Festival with an all-inclusive family-style, bottle share, wine share dinner! Join three of Paso’s best producers for The Hatch’s family-three-course meal and some killer Paso wine. Advance purchase only. Seating extremely limited. Featured winemakers: Janell Dusi, J Dusi Wines – Jordan Fiorentini, Epoch Estate Wines – Janis Pelletiere, Pelletiere Vineyard & Winery.

13. Wine Festival: Friday RESERVE Event – 4p to 6:30p
Join 70+ wineries and a fantastic selection of local restaurants for the intimate RESERVE Event. Participating wineries offer two of their best wines within the categories of Reserve, Library, White/Rosé or Futures. Taste fare from local restaurants paired perfectly with the wines while enjoying live music in the beautiful downtown park. Tickets are $90 each

14. Sunday School: Biodynamics & Beyond – 5:30p to 8:30p
Join SLO Provisions for their Sunday (wine) School, a series of fun, informative, and delicious wine classes with Certified Sommelier Jenna Congdon. This month’s topic is Biodynamics & Beyond! Learn about what Biodynamics is, the importance of the Biodynamic calendar, and the potential benefits of the teachings of Rudolf Steine, all while you taste through a flight of six Biodynamic wines from around the world. Learn and decide for yourself if this farming philosophy is worth the hype (and extra work!) or a bunch of hocus pocus.

15. YPNG 10th Annual Spring Gala – 6p to 10p
The Young Professionals Networking Group invites you to the 10th Annual Spring Gala. Enjoy an elegant evening of specialty cocktails, dancing, and games – proceeds benefit our featured charity, SLO Special Olympics! This beloved annual event is open to the community, so please support our fundraising efforts by inviting friends, family, and coworkers (21+). Tickets start at $50.

16. Halter Ranch Spring Bridge Dinner – 6:30p to 9:30p
Our picturesque covered bridge creates a dramatic stage for our Spring Bridge Dinner. Sprawling views of our vineyard and winery create a dramatic backdrop for this one-of-a-kind event. Menu prepared by Trumpet Vine Catering.

17. Grandma Ingrid’s Sourdough Class – 9a to 12p
Come to Grandma Ingrids and learn to make Sourdough English Muffins and crackers from her 100 year old sourdough starter. They will also show you how to make some easier breads that are full proof breads good for any occasion. You will also get to take some of Grandma Ingrid’s starter home with you to keep in your family for generations to come. Come hungry! Lunch and lots of snacks are served during class. 18. 4th Annual Lake Fest – 10a to 4p
The Friends of Atascadero Lake are excited to invite you to the Central Coast’s 4rd Annual LakeFest at Atascadero Lake Park. A variety of activities await you, from cardboard and duct-tape boat races to paddleboard races, music, and kid’s activities for the little ones. PLUS a 2 for 1 for Zoo admission!  There will be over 15 vendors offering a wide variety of items for purchase from unique gift items to great food. There will be a beer garden for the adults to enjoy and something for all ages. The event is free to attend, but bring your wallet to enjoy the food, drinks, music and shopping opportunities. Proceeds from the event will be used to benefit improvements in and around Atascadero Lake. A great way to spend your Saturday!

19. Mermaid, Sea Creature, and Pirate Parade – 10a to Noon
Join Morro Bay for their 13th Annual Mermaid, Sea Creature and Pirate Parade. Meet at the Morro Rock parking lot, the parade starts at 10:15am. No fee to participate.  The parade ends at Tognazzini’s Dockside Too for a P-arrrty and Shell-ebration!  *All children participating will receive a free lunch.

20. Wine Festival: Winemaker Seminar – 10:30a to 11:30a
The 37th Annual Wine Festival features an a fun and enlightening take on the Winemaker Seminar. Listen and taste along as a panel of winemakers share their stories, behind the label. Each will feature a wine that complements the story and personality of the story teller. Sit back, have a sip, and enjoy the show. Winemakers: Tyler Russell, Cordant | Nelle – Andrew Jones, Field Recordings – Joe Barton, Barton Family Wines – Jim Saunders, Hearst Ranch Winery – Caitlin Pianetta, Pianetta Winery. Tickets $25.

21. Paso Wine Festival: Grand Tasting – 12p to 4p
More than 70 wineries come together in the Paso Robles Downtown City Park to showcase their wines during the Grand Tasting. Wineries at the Grand Tasting will be arranged by “regions” for a seamless and focused tasting experience: Bordeaux-style, Rhône-style, Zinfandel, Burgundian-style, Italian varieties and Other Wild Wines for your tasting pleasure. Plus, food samples and local artisan merchants. Live music will provide the perfect atmosphere for your wine tasting experience. Tickets range from $25 – $145. Event is 21+ ONLY.

22. The Unofficial Wine Fest After Party! – 5:30p to 9:30p
Cap off your Paso Wine Fest weekend with us while enjoying music performed by local jazz artists The Ray Chang Band. Cordant | Nelle wines will be available by the glass. Also being featured is our guest from 13th & Third Winery. Pouring their small batch Rhône style wines. A project by Gregg Rothberg and winemaker Don Burns. Suzy’s Mexican food truck will be slinging tacos and other delicious Mexican dishes for all your hungry bellies! **(Please bring cash as Suzy’s is CASH ONLY!) Come party!!! Bring your friends and your friends, friends!

23. Sunset Wines & Full Moon Vibes – 6p to 9p
Join Doce Robles for a “Sunset Vineyard Hayride” with their winemaker, Jim Jacobsen, and enjoy behind the scene views of their moonlit vineyard. May’s sunset-full-moon party lands on Paso Robles Wine Festival Weekend and features a “Blue Moon,” a rare lunar calendar event. Doce Robles will be pouring plenty of wine, so invite your friends and family to celebrate Paso Robles beautiful vineyards and delicious wines!

24. 5th Annual Z-day California Car Show – 10a to 3p
Check out over 150 cars registered spanning Z cars from all generations from across the state! Enjoy music, entertainment, racing simulators, a mobile dyno machine, trophies, models, raffles, food trucks, vendors, a beer island, media coverage and special guest appearance by Formula Drift Champion Chris Forsberg.
