Family Concert: Carnival of the Animals – 11a to 12p (San Luis Obispo)
Join Festival Mozaic for a family-friendly performance of Carnival of the Animals, a piece for small orchestra by French composer Saint-Saëns that uses musical instruments to depict different animals! Led by Scott Yoo and featuring narration by Dan Shadwell, the performance will also include dancers from SLO’s Movement Arts Center. All ages welcome.

Benefit Dinner in Mission Plaza Fundraiser – 5:30p to 7:30p (San Luis Obispo)
The beloved Festival dinner tradition returns for the 2019 season! Join Festival friends and special celebrity musicians for a beautiful alfresco dinner in Mission Plaza. Chef Shaun Behrens of Luna Red, along with support from Novo Restaurant and Lounge, will create an elegant Spanish paella dinner for this pre-concert fundraiser, using locally sourced ingredients, paired with delightful wines from Claiborne & Churchill Winery.
Fermentation Workshop with Chef Leslie Collins – 6p to 8p (San Luis Obispo)
Join Chef Leslie Collins for a workshop all about fermentation. Together we will learn about different types of fermentation and the world of health benefits we can experience from eating fermented foods! We will also be creating our own unique batches of sauerkraut and fermented pickles, using an array of spices and add-ins that you can customize to make your own special project! You will be sent home with a packet of information, recipes, and instructions on how to care for your fermentation projects.
Orchestra Series: Mozart in the Mission – 7:30p to 9:30p (San Luis Obispo)
Celebrate the music that has been the inspiration for the Festival since its beginnings in 1971. The program begins and ends with pieces by Mozart and Haydn, featuring percussion instruments that evoke the sounds of old world Turkish military marching bands. Scott Yoo and the Festival Orchestra will also be joined by bassoonist Fei Xie and cellist Jonah Kim for elegant concertos by these two Classical masters.

Central Coast Shakespeare Festival – July 28 to August 3
The Central Coast Shakespeare Festival is back and runs till August 3rd! Enjoy live outdoor theater at the historic Filipponi Ranch. Catch a performance of “Twelfth Night” or “Treasure Island.” New to live theater? Never read Shakespeare? Fear not! No matter which play (or both!) you choose to see, you’ll enjoy a great Central Coast summer evening with entertainment, food, wine, and friends in a beautiful outdoor setting. All ages and families are welcome. Bring your lawn chair, jacket and a blanket and get ready to sit back and enjoy Shakespeare and more under the stars.
Cambria Rally 2019 – August 1 to 4 (Cambria)
The annual Norcal-Socal West Coast New Triumph Bonneville Cambria Rally centered at the Cambria Palms Motel. Officially kicks off with the Bixby Bridge meetup noon on Friday Aug. 2, but many people start arriving Thursday Aug. 1 at The Palms. Informal gathering and dinner Friday night after people make their way back to The Palms after the Bixby meetup. Saturday morning is the only formal full group ride leaving The Palms 10AM. Lunch will be at Firestone-Walker Brewery in Paso Robles at 12:30PM. Afterwards there are many different small group rides, gathering up for the Saturday night BBQ dinner and Bark-off. Each night Thur/Fri/Sat ends with socializing around the Fire Pit at The Palms. Sunday most gather for breakfast in town together before departing in various groups to ride back to their homes.

Backstage Breakfast, Tour & Rehearsal – 9a to 10a (San Luis Obispo)
Rub elbows with Festival musicians while you enjoy a gourmet continental breakfast from SLO Provisions, backstage in the Experimental Theater. Afterwards, the staff of the Harold J. Miossi CPAC will lead you on a special tour of their state-of-the-art facility. Then, enjoy a special seat on the stage for the morning’s open orchestra rehearsal.

Stride with the Tide – 7:15a to 10:30a (Pismo Beach)
The City of Pismo Beach Recreation Division and the San Luis Distance Club are excited to host the annual Stride with the Tide 5K Run starting from the Pismo Beach Pier. Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in each age division. All ages and skill levels to join us for this event. Whether you race for time, walk with a friend or jog with your family, you are invited to enjoy a beautiful morning on the beach!
Goat Yoga – 8:30a – 9:30a (San Luis Obispo)
Meet, greet and do yoga with adorable miniature goats. A certified yoga instructor will lead you through a relaxing beginner-friendly yoga class for all ages and levels and yoga mats are provided. This is an outdoor goat yoga event at the world renown Madonna Inn.
2019 Obon Festival – 12p to 8p (Arroyo Grande)
Obon is a Japanese Buddhist custom to honor the spirits of one’s ancestors with deepening gratitude and thankfulness for their influence and teachings they shared with us. This annual Obon Festival is hosted by the SLO Buddhist Temple and is one of our largest fundraisers. Admission is free, and there will be lots of games, crafts, food, and dance for the whole family to enjoy. Please join us as we share our Namu Amida Butsu in paying our respects to those who made us who we are.
Oyster Fest – 12p to 3p (Pismo Beach)
Come feast and enjoy Grassy Bar Oysters from Morro Bay. Executive chef, Fernando Rodriquez, will be pairing his homemade special sauces for the oysters with Firestone handcrafted beers. Music, great food and beer await you. Live music performance by Dante Marsh.
Sound Healing in Hammocks – 12:15p to 1:30p (San Luis Obispo)
This will truly be a special event as we are bathed with sounds from crystal quartz and Tibetan bowls, Koshi chimes, tongue drum, & other sacred instruments. We may be elevated in a hammock so that the sound completely surrounds us as we have the feeling of floating weightlessly. This modality helps to alleviate stress, relieve tension, find our inner strength and self-love, and shed old beliefs that no longer serve us. Our fight or flight response is calmed so that we may react to stress with less shock. We often feel rejuvenated and revitalized with a sense of clarity during and after the experience.

18 Local artisans have team up to showcase their work at a local backyard. Come out and support our locals there will be art, handmade goods, and clothing for sale.
Kelsey See Canyon Winery Vineyard Dog Walk – 11a to 5:30P (San Luis Obispo)
Bring your dog out for a unique experience at Kelsey Vineyards and enjoy a wine tasting dog walk through the vineyards with owner Keith Kelsey and Assistant Winemaker Joey Roedl. Learn about the history of Kelsey Winery while strolling through the vines of See Canyon. Hang out with your dog after the walk for an afternoon of music with the Jump Jax. The walk starts at 11:30a but the winery is open until 5:30 pm and %15 of the day’s wine sales will be donated to the Crystal Fund at Woods Humane Society. Tickets are $15 for this exclusive wine tasting dog walk through the vines of Kelsey Vineyard.

Neptune Pool Swim – 5:30p to 8:30p (San Simeon) – SOLD OUT!
If you’ve ever dreamed of swimming in the luxurious pool once appreciated by the likes of Joan Crawford, Howard Hughes, and Charlie Chaplin – this is your chance. Members of The Foundation at Hearst Castle are invited for a coveted swim in the Neptune Pool! Only a few fundraising swim experiences are scheduled for 2019, with no more than 40 guests at each. The event is held by the Foundation at Hearst Castle. Their mission is to support the conservation and restoration of Hearst Castle, and to offer youth programs for underserved middle school students — to enhance the appreciation of the art and architecture of this world-class museum and monument, ultimately enriching the visitor experience and inspiring future generations of visionaries.
