It’s a busy week in the central coast!

Monday, July 1st

1. Circus Vargas – July 1 – July 8 (San Luis Obispo)
The Big One is Back with “The Greatest of Ease’ bringing acrobats, daredevils and flying trapeze! Celebrate Circus Vargas’ 50th anniversary extravaganza, an homage to the golden era of circus in America!! All aboard our spectacular circus steam engine as we ride the railways back in time, to relive the nostalgia of yesteryear! Marvel at the sights and sounds emanating from the big top, just as audiences did decades ago! The hypnotic call of the Calliope, the sawdust, the sequins the spangles! Run away with the circus, for two unforgettable hours of nonstop action and adventure, as we transport you back through the ages of circus history and tradition!

2.  805 Food Truck Night – 5p – 7:30p (San Luis Obispo)
From 5pm – 7:30pm at Bang the Drum Brewery, all ages welcome. Come of check out some of the best food trucks in the area.

3.  Beer at the Pier Summer Series – 4p – 7p (Los Osos)
The best little concert series on the Central Coast!  Going on its 5th year in beautiful Baywood Park, Beer at the Pier offers the finest in local talent, fine food & drink from the Blue Heron Baywood Restaurant, a garden stage, a dancing lawn, fire pit lounge, multiple patios, and bars, and an unparalleled community vibe! Music: Cuesta Ridge.

4.  Patriots Pride Week – July 1 – July 5 (Morro Bay)
Morro Bay welcomes veterans and visitors to celebrate Independence Day all week long! Plus on July 4th, a patriotic bicycle parade down the Embarcadero, paddle parade along the bay, skateboard race near the beach, Family Fun Day carnival with dunk tanks, boat tours and live music at Tidelands Park. Plus free popcorn down the Embarcadero, free hotdogs for Vets and free Otter Pops along the harbor to celebrate our Sea’lebrities: The Otters. 

Tuesday, July 2nd

5. Tuesdays in the Park – 5p – 8p (Atascadero)
Support local non-profits, enjoy a tri tip and chicken BBQ dinner by the Atascadero Elks Club, and then sit back and enjoy the Atascadero Community Band from 7-8 pm. Purchase your tickets at the Atascadero Chamber of Commerce. TICKET PRICES: $9 Child (10 years and younger); $14 Adult; $12 Seniors (60+)

Wednesday, July 3rd

6. Blacklake Summer Concert Series: Unfinished Business – 5p to 7:30p – (Nipomo)
Join in on the 2019 Blacklake Concert Series! This week music will be by Sound Investment so swing by to enjoy some live music. Blacklake concerts are performed outside, so bring your lawn chairs and blankets and find a spot on the grass. Lawn seating is FREE or you will be able to rent a table and 8 chairs for only $20. No outside food or beverage is allowed at the concerts. Families welcome!  Be sure to come out and enjoy some of the finest music the Central Coast has to offer

7.  SLO Blues 4th of July Celebration – 6p to 10p – (San Luis Obispo)
Baseball and BBQ! Come cheer on your hometown team followed by a Fireworks Show to celebrate the 4th of July. Gates open at 4:30pm. Adult and Kids general admission tickets are available.

8.  Concerts In the Park – 6:30p to 8:30p (Templeton)
Bring your family and friends to Templeton Park with your lawn chairs and blankets.  Sit back, relax, and enjoy an evening of free musical entertainment for the whole family!  There will be approved vendors with food and beverages available for purchase as well as the Templeton Chamber of Commerce Beer and Wine Garden.

Thursday, July 4th

9.  4th of July Bluegrass Festival – 2p – 8p (Atascadero)
The 3rd annual Bluegrass Freedom Festival will be bigger and better with a new addition to the lineup, and some returning favorites! Celebrate Freedom and Independence Day lakeside under giant shady oaks with four great Bluegrass bands on an idyllic afternoon of music, food & drinks, family fun, kids amusements & playground, and vendors, emceed by BanjerDan. Admission is FREE.

10. Pancake Breakfast & Doggie Parade – 8a – 12p (Avila Beach)
The Avila Beach Civic Association is pleased to announce the 2019 Fourth of July Pancake Breakfast & Doggie Parade.  Breakfast will be held at the Avila Beach Community Center, 191 San Miguel Street from 8:00-11:00 a.m., followed by the Doggie Parade on the Avila Promenade at 11 a.m.

11. 4th of July in the Village – 1p (Arroyo Grande)
Hot Dogs, Lemonade and Ice Cream will be served by the South County Historical Society.

12.  4th of July Parade – 8a – 3p (Nipomo)
A Pancake breakfast, parade, and BBQ all in one. Join them for their Annual Jim Tefft Memorial 4th of July Parade. The parade route this year remains the same but there are many other improvements coming as Nipomo’s signature event continues to grow.

13.  Pismo July 4th – 9a – 9p (Pismo Beach)
Premiere seats to the Fireworks Display on the Pismo Pier including a delicious BBQ dinner complete with a tri tip sandwich, beans & coleslaw prepared by F. McLintocks Saloon & Dining House.

14.  Celebrate the 4th in Cambria – 9a – 9:30p (Cambria)
Come together with family, friends, and the Cambria community for the annual American Legion Fourth of July celebration at Shamel Park! From food to face painting and relays to raffles, this Independence Day event will be fun for all ages. Live music will be playing throughout the day, and food and beverages will be available for purchase. The event will conclude with a stunning fireworks show—it’s sure to be a blast!

15. Fireworks in Cayucos – 9p – 10p (Cayucos)
This July 4th event brings together thousands of visitors, transforming this small beach town into a lively coastal destination. From the town parade featuring hand-made floats to the Front Street Faire and sand sculpture contest to the spectacular fireworks show from the pier, our Independence Day celebrations shouldn’t be missed.

16. Family Funday 4th of July – 10a – 5p (Morro Bay)
A full day of fun in Morro Bay including skateboard races, parades, live music and more.

17. Paso Pops – 4p – 10p (Paso Robles)
Paso Pops, the annual Paderewski Festival-sponsored patriotic concert and Independence Day celebration in Paso Robles combining wine, beer, food, family-friendly activities, live music, and fireworks. To be held on Thursday, July 4.

18.  4th of July in Templeton – 10a – 1p (Templeton)
Come out and support the El Paso del Robles Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution as we participate in the Templeton 4th of July Parade.

Friday, July 5th

19. Art after Dark – 6p – 9p (San Luis Obispo)
From 6 to 9 pm, downtown comes alive with new art exhibits, performances, music, and community. Visit dozens of galleries and non-traditional exhibit spaces. It’s everyone’s favorite night of the month to celebrate art for free.

20.  Fridays at the Chapman Estate – 5p – 7p (Pismo Beach)
Bring a friend, bring a snack and enjoy an evening of ocean views and music. Gates are open from 5pm to 7pm on Fridays
Entry Fee is $5.00 per person.

21.  Concerts in the Plaza – 5p to 8p – (San Luis Obispo) Downtown SLO and Sunset Honda proudly present the 2019 Concerts in the Plaza Series. Concerts attendees are encouraged to bring their own reusable cups to the event. Food and drink for purchase from: Woodstock’s Pizza & Backyard, Chamisal Vineyards, Firestone Walker Brewing Co., and Jean Marie Cidery. The event is free and family friendly!

Saturday, July 6th

22. Red, White and Brews – 12p – 4p (Pismo Beach)
Join us Saturday, July 6th for Red, White & Brews! Live music with Scotty O’Graci’s Soul Explozion, BBQ specials from Richard Pfaff, wine from DAOU Vineyards & beer from Firestone Walker Brewing Co.!

23. Vitner and Vines – 11a – 3p (Paso Robles)

24.  Wineries of the 46 East BBQ – 11a – 4p (Paso Robles)
Make your way around the Wineries of 46 East on Saturday July 6th for a day of summer fun! Each winery will have their own event going on, BBQ bites, music, games, and of course….wine!

25.  Central Coast Lavender Festival – 10a – 5p (Paso Robles)
Wine isn’t the only Central Coast product that offers a heady bouquet, perfect pairing with gourmet food and an enhanced sense of well-being. San Luis Obispo County’s growing lavender industry, which staged its first Central Coast Lavender Festival in Paso Robles 11 years ago, returns July 6, 2019 with cuisine, oils, sauces, ice cream and a tasting garden, all infused with the delectable herb.

26.  46 West Wineries Summer Block Party – 10a – 5p (Paso Robles)
The Summer Block Party is a wine tasting event featuring the wineries of the Paso Robles 46 West Wineries trail in a casual “mini wine festival” atmosphere with rockin’ live music from the Zongo All-Stars to dance the night away to… all for $55 per person!

27.  Goat Yoga – 8:30a – 9:30a (San Luis Obispo)

A tribute to the summer season and Independence Day all in one, join us at our Red White & Blues Bash! Mouth-watering Americana BBQ dinner created by Winery Chef James Richmond, and boogie blues & “reso-coustic” rock performed by Brian Black and the Blue Moon Gypsies.

29.  Red Wine & Blue on Pleasant Valley – 11a – 3p (San Miguel)
Travel the trail and receive complimentary American bites at each stop. Many members will have lawn games and other fun events planned throughout the weekend.

30.  Smoke & Hops – 11a – 4p (Harmony)
The historic town of Harmony, California will become BBQ Town this Fourth of July Weekend as we welcome 25 top BBQ Teams from around the Western United States. Grab a beer and watch the excitement of a sanctioned KCBS Master BBQ Competition, sample 20 different beers at the Hops Fest, indulge in an Ice Cream Eating Contest, and tap your feet to live music by Brass Mash.
