Annual “Light Up The Downtown” Holiday Celebration!
December 6, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm
The City of Atascadero is delighted to present our annual Light Up the Downtown Holiday Celebration to be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 5:30-8:30 pm in the Sunken Gardens, Downtown Atascadero.
Beginning at 5:30 pm, you can sip and shop with the Atascadero Chamber of Commerce’s ever-popular Art & Wine Tour! The “Fairweather Four” Barbershop Quartet will be strolling through the downtown and serenading shoppers and families to get everyone in the holiday spirit. At 6 pm, gather in the Sunken Gardens area in front of Historic City Hall as our City officials and the community counts down the lighting, flips the giant PG&E switch and turns on the lights to showcase our beautiful building. Soon after the lights come on, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be arriving via an antique Model-A fire truck to the tune of “Here Comes Santa Claus.” You will then be invited to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus at the North Pole entrance located at the back of City Hall that faces Atascadero Jr High.
Entertainment includes performances from the Atascadero Fine Arts Academy Honors Choir along with the Atascadero Community Band, followed by Medina Light Show and Designs playing holiday favorites! The fun continues with complementary tours of City Hall from 6:30 – 8 pm with the Atascadero Historical Society docents. Complementary rides on the Model-A Firetruck around Downtown, along with Hayrides around City Hall from Harris Stage Lines. Complementary Hot Chocolate by Lighthouse Coffee and Riptide Club (while supplies last!). Fun for the entire family to enjoy and the event is Free!
Art & Wine Tour tickets are available for purchase for $20/ person in front of Historic City Hall and at Grape Encounters Empourium. Tickets include a commemorative wine glass and wristband that entitles you to enjoy over 15 merchants serving wine throughout the downtown. A great way to enjoy shopping and strolling the downtown along with enjoying the festivities of the season!
