Cooking with Chef Kyle: Pickling and Fermentation

Learn to preserve the natural way – focusing on fermenting and discover how live foods come to life! In our pickling and fermentation class we will discuss everything you need to know about lactic fermentation techniques particularly around vegetables, and touch on their beneficial effects on our bodies. This class will be taught by Farmhouse Corner Market assistant sous chef Kyle Baca. Kyle has been pickling and fermenting for over 6 years. Former kitchens he’s worked at include Paso Robles Six Test Kitchen, as well as 2-Michelin Star restaurants: Lazy Bear in San Francisco, and Murray Circle in Sausalito. Included in your ticket price: Learn to prepare: half sour pickles, sauerkraut, and escabeche. We’ll eat what we make, you’ll enjoy what we prepare. Take home the materials you need to make more, including fermenting lids, and jars. Starts promptly at 6 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m.
