#1 The Haunt – Atascadero
Embark on a chilling journey through a haunted labyrinth, where bloodthirsty creatures lie in wait around every sinister corner. Within the shadowy depths, Vampyres of TransylMania! beckons brave souls to explore 19 spine-tingling rooms inhabited by vampires, their sinister henchmen, and other nightmarish denizens.. ***They are also offering a “Lights On” Group as an option for those who are afraid of the dark! The lights will be on for this guided tour. No monsters!
#2 Nightmare from Main St – Paso Robles
The most spine-tingling haunted house experience on the Central Coast has returned! Within its ominous confines, you’ll encounter 6,000 square feet of pure terror, where thrills, chills, and the dreaded Vortex of Doom await your bravest steps. Brace yourself for a chilling journey like no other! It’s worth noting that Nightmare From Main Street isn’t just about scares; it’s also a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to give back to our local community.

#3 Brookshire Farm Night Maze – San Luis Obispo
Brookshire Farms will be hosting their Night Maze on October 21, 21, 27 & 28 from 7:30p to 10. No ghouls but let your imagination run wild. Bring your flashlights. Tickets Here
#4 The Russo House – Atascadero
Mark Russo Jr. is bringing back his Spooktacular Lights & Sights. This Atascadero local goes all out to celebrate Halloween by decorating his home. Lights are on from about 7p to 10p beginning mid October through Halloween. On Halloween day you’ll be able to enter the front yard for a spooky show. This is the perfect event for kiddos and it’s completely free. Stop by if you love Halloween decorations or if you have kiddos. Address: 7720 Cortez Avenue near the Jim Green Trail. Details here.Â

#5 The Boydston House – Atascadero
One of our cherished holiday spots during Christmas has now unveiled a haunted house for all to relish! It a total of 3 weeks to build and inside you can find three different themes. Expect to fog, lights, live actors, and animations. Outside the walk there is 12ft tall skeleton and a giant pumpkin. Candy and little toys for kids and some apple cider will be available. The walk is free but donations are welcome. Swing by every Friday and Saturday night at 7pm throughout October. Best of all? It’s complimentary! Address:2720 Ferrocarril Rd, Atascadero, CA 93422. #8 SLO Elks Lodge: Annual Haunted House: Lost Souls Lodge
Join the Elks Lodge 322 for a spooktacular celebration on October 28-29! Step into a world of thrills and chills with our chilling Haunted House experience. And that’s not all! While you’re here, dive into a selection of tempting treats and try your hand at our enthralling carnival games. Feeling peckish? We have gourmet bites available for purchase to keep your energy up for all the spookiness.
Admission is entirely free, making it the perfect event for friends and family. While there’s no obligation, they accept donations to keep their spirits (pun intended) high and to support the lodge. Mark your calendars and get ready for an unforgettable night. Remember, it’s a choice between being there or daring the unforeseen consequences – so, BE THERE OR BEWARE!

#7 Boo Bash (San Luis Obispo)
Join the Parks and Recreation Department for a family friendly costume party and haunted house. Youngsters (and their families) will enjoy food, games and activities, as well as choose to venture through a spooky haunted house. Concluding the night, enjoy the kid-friendly outdoor Movie Curious George: A Boo Fest on the Meadow Park lawn under the stars.
The Food Bank Coalition of SLO County will be collecting canned food and participants who are able are encouraged to bring one or more items to donate.
#8 Arroyo Grande Halloween Carnival & Maze (Arroyo Grande)Â
Prepare for a spooktacular spectacle as the City of Arroyo Grande Recreation Services Department unveils the Halloween Marathon Monster Mash! It’s a three-day Halloween extravaganza set in the eerie Elm Street Park, nestled at the ominous intersection of Ash and Elm streets.
All are welcome, from the littlest ghouls to grown-up thrill-seekers, to partake in unlimited bounce-n-play adventures, test their luck at carnival games with delectable candy and toy prizes, savor tantalizing treats from food vendors, and navigate the haunting depths of a spine-chilling maze. Plus, get ready to strut your spookiest stuff in our costume contest, and don’t forget to bring your creatively adorned pumpkins from home to enter our pumpkin decorating competition.
Tickets for the carnival and maze can be conveniently secured at the Recreation office, located at 1221 Ash Street, or simply grab them at the door.
