The San Luis Obispo Symphony is set to enchant audiences of all ages with its 41st annual Pops-by-the-Sea concert on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at the picturesque Avila Beach Golf Resort. This year’s theme, “Movie Magic,” promises to transport attendees through the last five decades of iconic film scores.
Gates will open at 2:45 PM, allowing guests to settle in before the music begins at 4:00 PM. The “Movie Magic” concert will feature beloved themes and scores from legendary films, including Richard Rodgers’ “Slaughter on Tenth Avenue,” the timeless melodies of “West Side Story,” the exhilarating themes from “The Magnificent Seven,” the classic adventure of “The Adventures of Robin Hood,” the thrilling “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” and the evocative “Ladies in Lavender” by Nigel Hess.
This Labor Day weekend event offers a perfect blend of music, community, and celebration. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own picnics or indulge in delicious offerings from a variety of on-site food trucks, including Brooks Burgers, Central Coast Pizza Trolley, and G Brothers Kettle Corn.
Seating options include limited table seating available for $80 per seat at tables of ten, providing an excellent opportunity for groups to enjoy the concert together. Lawn seating is a budget-friendly option, priced at $25 for adults and $15 for minors aged 13 to 17, while children under 13 can attend for free with a paying adult.
