In 1976, a musical revolution began on the Central Coast. In 2026, we’re celebrating 50 years of the legends who made it happen. Join the Basin Street Regulars as we kick off our 50th Anniversary year with a high-energy performance by the iconic Monte Mills & The Lucky Horseshoe Band!

This January, we’re not just looking back—we’re starting the year right with the 'infectiously fun' beat of Hot Jazz and Western Swing . This special kickoff show at the Pismo Vet's Hall is your first chance to celebrate Basin Street Regular's 50th year Anniversary.

The Real Deal Cowboy Icon Monte Mills isn't just a performer; he’s a California Central Coast institution. A master farrier and professional auctioneer by trade, Monte is the "real deal"—one of the last and best of the great yodeling cowboys. Since 1976, he has been the primary custodian of Western Swing, a high-octane "Western Jazz" that blends the soulful improvisation of the big band era with a driving, rural rhythm that is impossible to sit still for.

A Legacy of Star-Studded Performance Monte’s career is a registry of American excellence. He has captivated everyone from local college students to global luminaries, including President Ronald Reagan, Kenny Rogers, Michael McDonald, and Merle Haggard. His iconic red, white, and blue guitar serves as a traveling museum, bearing the signatures of legends like Willie Nelson, George Jones, and Buck Owens. 

The Ultimate "Aggie Stomp" Energy Famous for the legendary "Aggie Stomps" that have introduced thousands of Cal Poly students to the joy of swing, Monte and his band bring an "effervescent" energy to every stage.
