Pismo Beach Sand Art Festival
Join us for the first annual Pismo Beach Sand Art Festival, a three-day celebration of large-scale sand art installations.
From Thursday, November 6, through Saturday, November 8, 2025, the shores of Pismo Beach will transform into a living, open-air gallery where the tideline is the canvas. 10 artists will participate in covering the sand in their individual styles.
This free, family-friendly event invites visitors to experience the beauty of impermanence as the sand art washes away the art each evening.
Important Event Viewing Tips
All three days will have interactive experiences, from sand globe making to community drawing. Artists will be drawing around low tide only. This is from 2 PM to SUNSET. The murals will get washed away by the tide every night, so you must come in the evening to see them.
The best location for viewing will be posted with a map on the Pismo Beach page the week of the event.
