Homage Brewery Review – Downtown LA – Chinatown
Hi! My name is Michelle, and I was born and raised in LA. I moved to the Central Coast in 2017. While I once had my finger firmly on the pulse of the city’s food, beverage, and event scene, that quickly changed with my move, and I found myself feeling like a stranger in my hometown. Now, when I visit, I explore LA with fresh eyes—a tourist rediscovering familiar streets. Here’s what I uncovered on my latest trip.
I came home looking for a spacious spot in Downtown LA for a business meeting. I hadn’t been to Homage Brewing in Chinatown before, but I was pleasantly surprised by its size and how close it is to my old home, The Brewery Artist Lofts. Free street parking was surprisingly available, and it wasn’t the parking nightmare you’d expect in LA.
Homage Brewing offers a large outdoor patio, indoor seating, and even an upstairs space. Every time I’ve visited, it hasn’t been overly crowded, making it a great spot to relax, grab a bite, and get some work done.
Now, I’ll be honest—I’m not much of a beer drinker. I chose this spot for its size and casual vibes. So, instead of sampling their brews, I ordered their chicken wings, and what was supposed to be me just having a bite turned into me devouring the entire plate and burning my mouth because I was so impatient to eat them all.
This spot has officially become one of my new favorite hidden gems in the city. These masa-battered chicken wings are a perfect size, wonderfully moist, with just the right balance of meat and crispy skin. What makes them extra special is the thoughtful presentation: they’re drizzled with hot honey (so the wings stay crispy), and the bottom of the plate is sauced up, letting you control how much heat you want. They come with pickles and crema ranch, but honestly, the wings are so good they stand alone.

I also tried their fish tacos, which were delicious, but those chicken wings…I can’t get them out of my head.
If you’re looking for a great place to meet, eat, and relax, check out Homage Brewing. And if you go, let me know what you think!
