Shake Shake Fresh Noodle Brings Authentic Hand-Pulled Chinese Noodles to San Luis Obispo

If you’ve been dreaming of fresh, hand-pulled noodles in San Luis Obispo—your wish just came true. Welcome Shake Shake Fresh Noodle, the newest gem tucked inside the Creamery Marketplace in downtown SLO.

Originally from Fremont in the Bay Area, the family behind Shake Shake brings generations of flavor, tradition, and skill to their new home on the Central Coast. Specializing in Lāmiàn (拉麵)—the art of hand-pulled Chinese noodles—they serve each bowl with care, texture, and bold flavors that speak for themselves.

We stopped in to try their signature chili oil flat noodles with braised beef—and we loved it! The noodles were perfectly chewy, the broth was rich, and the braised beef melted in your mouth. Each dish is a comforting hug in a bowl. Tip: In our experience the left overs taste even better as it allows more time for the sauce to soak into the noodles. Perfection!

One of our favorite little touches? They use scissors to cut the noodles at your table—it’s functional, fun, and totally adds to the experience. Just make sure to stir your bowl well to incorporate all those delicious layers of sauce and spice before diving in.
