We couldn’t be more excited to welcome S’Aranella (sara-NAY-ahh) to downtown Paso Robles! This new Spanish tapas bar is the latest creation from Chef Julien and Courtney Asseo, the duo behind Les Petites Canailles (LPC), one of my all-time favorite restaurants. Just a few blocks from the beloved French hang out, S’Aranella is bringing the vibrant flavors of Spain to the Central Coast, with a menu centered on authentic pintxos and shareable plates perfect for gathering with friends.
Julien and Courtney were inspired by their annual trips to Cadaqués, Spain, where they spend time at Platja de s’Arenella, a quiet locals’ beach that’s become a special part of their family story. With this new venture, they’re weaving those experiences into a menu that celebrates Spanish culture and cuisine, all while staying true to the warm hospitality they’re known for. Just walking in feels like home.

Adding even more excitement to the mix is Chef Justin Kingsley Hall, who will be leading the kitchen at S’Aranella. Justin brings years of experience from top restaurants in Las Vegas, including Sparrow + Wolf and Main St. Provisions. Locally he’s become a favorite for his live fire cooking at special events.
The drinks menu stands out which is hard to do in a “wine town.” A combination of great cocktails, spritzers and a impressive but focused wine list. Alex Wolfe, the somm (and all around LEGEND) from LPC, has brought in some interesting (and still approachable) Spanish wines that will keep us wine nerds excited.
Julien and Courtney’s ability to create a warm dining experience is unmatched, and with Justin at the helm in the kitchen, we know S’Aranella will quickly become a must-visit spot in Paso Robles. The official Grand Opening is on Thursday book your reservations here.

We started with a small selection of items that weren’t on the menu, marinated olives, ham and mushroom croquettes, and pan con tomate (bread with tomato spread).
Carxofa $16 – Crispy Artichokes, Truffle Puree, Confit Yolk, Manchego
Papas Bravas $8 – Baby Potatoes, Salsa Brava, Confit Garlic Aioli
Pulpa A La Gallega $16 – Octopus, Potato Espuma, Potato Chips, Chorizo Oil
Corazon De Res $25 – Grilled Grass-fed Beef Heart Skewers
Paella Del Mar $50 (2ppl per serving) – Fiduea (tiny pasta), Prawns, Mussels, Cuttlefish, Squid Ink, Garlic Saffron Aioli
